Track Offset

Trackoff is a useful little feature in all DAWs that allows you to shift the entire contents of the track forwards and backwards in micro amounts. You would use the track offset delay feature in your sequencers to shift the start timing of your programmed parts to get a more organic feel and to get a better feel. For example, live bass often benefits from coming slightly before the beat, or percussion parts can benefit from a slight shift out of the quantisation grid. Offsetting is particularly applicable with strings and pads, since they have a soft attack and it can be useful to shift the track offset negatively so they slide in earlier and their envelope peaks with better timing.
