ARRANGE FIRST

This sounds counter intuitive but I find one of the most powerful ways of approaching your music production is to map out an arrangement very early on in the writing process. Many producers get stuck in the trap of working on a loop and then being unable to move beyond that point, and after working endlessly on their loop they begin to loose confidence to finish their idea at all. But I find working to a full arrangement template from early on can break this destructive cycle before it even begins, and shifts you to work on your music from greater vantage point.
